Wausau transit commissioners approve updated Title VI plan and authorize FTA submission

The Wausau Transit Commission on Oct. 16 voted unanimously to accept an updated Title VI plan and authorize staff to submit the document to the Federal Transit Administration.
Commissioners were told the update primarily changes dates and statistical tables; no policy changes were made. A staff member said the document had been reviewed by the city attorney and is ready for submission to the FTA.
“If you see in the packet, it is the title 6 plan. It was it was due by the FTA in April 2025, and it was not, prepared. All's I did was go through the title 6 plan, change the dates and the, the numbers, and I had the city attorney look it over, and make sure everything was good and accurate. And I just need permission to submit this updated plan to the FTA,” the staff member said.
A commissioner noted that the metropolitan planning organization updated the statistics and that the changes were limited to dates and numbers. The motion to accept the Title VI plan was made and seconded and passed unanimously.
The commission did not discuss any new nondiscrimination policies in this session; commissioners were told the update was procedural to meet FTA requirements.
Minutes of this action will be reflected in the commission record and the updated plan will be submitted to the FTA as the staff requested.
