The City of Wausau approved a $2,647.80 amendment to MSA’s agreement for construction administration and observation on the 70 Second Avenue Trail South Extension.
Staff explained that MSA’s contract included a lump-sum engineering fee and a time-and-materials portion for on-site observation. “This contract was from as soon as contracts were signed and the completion date was August 1. MSA's proposal, in their schedule had a start date of May 12. The project actually started almost a month earlier and nearly went to completion. So the actual time on-site that the contractor was working was longer, which is why, the time actually spent on-site was longer than expected,” Staff member (speaker 3) said.
Because the contractor’s on-site schedule extended the observation time beyond MSA’s assumption, staff recommended the $2,647.80 amendment. Speaker 1 moved to approve the amendment and Speaker 2 seconded; the motion passed by voice vote with “Aye” responses.
No additional scope changes were described beyond the increased observation time, and staff characterized the amount as modest and within expectations for the extended on-site hours.
