Trumbull County commissioners honor 4‑H members and volunteers at county fair

The Board of Trumbull County Commissioners on Tuesday adopted a resolution recognizing Trumbull County 4‑H members and adult volunteers during Trumbull County Fair week.

The resolution, read by a county official, praised the program’s role in youth development and cited Trumbull County 4‑H’s clubs, volunteers and year‑round activities. "Beyond Ready," the national 2025 4‑H slogan, framed remarks from Ashley Meredith, who introduced herself as a Trumbull County 4‑H educator.

Ashley Meredith told commissioners that 4‑H prepares young people “not only for their future, but to be leaders, mentors, and change makers.” Meredith, who identified Liz Noel Martin as a colleague, described the local program’s mix of traditional clubs, school enrichment activities and resident summer programs, and thanked volunteers and county leaders for their support.

Several 4‑H members who attended the meeting introduced themselves and described projects and camp experiences. Parker Chambers, identified as an 18‑year‑old 4‑H member and counselor at Camp Whitewood, described returning as a counselor after attending as a camper. Isabella Bailey and Caitlin Benton spoke about projects and public‑speaking skills they said they had gained through 4‑H.

The commissioners presented a small gift to the 4‑H participants and applauded the group. The resolution urges Trumbull County residents to support the program and its volunteers.
