Trumbull County approves one-year contract with Kayo Consulting for grant development and government affairs

The Trumbull County Board of Commissioners voted to accept a proposal from Kayo Consulting LLC to provide government affairs, strategic planning and monthly grant and proposal development services for a one-year term beginning June 1, 2025.
Commissioners discussed due diligence and said they expect the firm to help the county pursue state and federal grant opportunities. “We found it necessary...we believe that we are losing millions of dollars in grant monies, and we feel that by hiring KO consultants that this will enable our county to enjoy much more grant monies,” one commissioner said during the meeting, adding that the firm has an outreach presence in Washington, D.C., and Columbus.
Kristin Olmi, identified in the record as CEO of CAM Consulting, stated on the record that she agreed to the proposed changes submitted by the prosecutor’s office. “We agree to the proposed changes submitted by the prosecutor’s office in full,” Olmi said.
The contract, as read into the record, runs from June 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026, and includes a fee structure and a transfer of funds as listed in the county’s agenda. Commissioners said they plan a follow-up meeting to outline priorities and to coordinate with county departments and townships on grant-seeking efforts.
