Trumbull County commissioners approve array of appropriations, engineering contracts, appointments and security upgrades

The Trumbull County Board of Commissioners approved a series of budget transfers, professional services agreements, personnel actions and contract awards at its June meeting, while commissioners said several funding requests will be addressed at the board’s next meeting.

The votes covered routine business — bills, minutes and appropriations — and a set of infrastructure and consultant contracts the board said are intended to support county operations and pursue outside funding.

Among the largest items, the board approved a modification to Firdress & Neibold Inc.’s engineering agreement for the Meadowbrook sanitary sewer improvements (county project 29-S-97) adding $699,790 and revising the contract total to $2,989,805 to cover construction administration, inspection and as-built drawings. The board also approved modification number 5 to the GPD Group agreement for the Western Reserve Greenway Bike Trail Phase 4, adding $127,710 and revising that contract total to $967,420, and authorized related permit payments and filings for the project.

The commissioners approved multiple Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) professional services agreements to perform bridge load ratings across the county, including contracts with MS Consultants ($49,954), Burgess & Neiple (two separate agreements: $381,999 for signal upgrades and $49,800 for 22-bridge ratings), Arcadis US Inc.
