- Approve the agenda and the Sept. meeting minutes. - Approve financial agenda items presented by district staff. - Approve classified personnel resignations, terminations and retirements (Item 6.2). - Approve classified personnel employment recommendations (Item 6.3). - Approve certified personnel employment items, including pay for homecoming chaperones (Item 6.4). - Approve a clarified volunteer agreements package (request-to-volunteer form and volunteer service agreement) to govern extra-duty volunteer assignments for current hourly employees (Item 6.5). District staff said the forms clarify compensation and liability for hourly employees who perform coaching duties. - Approve adoption of the superintendent goals for the 2025-26 school year (Item 6.6). - Approve two model policy updates (Items 6.7 and 6.8) as presented. - Approve the FY26 School Facilities capital plan for submission to the School Facilities Board (Item 6.9). - Approve winter-season coaches and volunteer stipends (Item 6.10). - Approve PTSO officer lists submitted by schools (Item 6.11). - Approve disposal of obsolete school property including scanners and an old oil tank at the bus barn (Item 6.12). - Approve a memorandum of understanding for the Ask Benjie app (Item 6.13), a voluntary, opt-in text/app service to remind high school juniors and seniors and their parents about FAFSA and other postsecondary deadlines; presenters said the app is free to students and parents and that participation requires opt-in and can be stopped by replying "stop." The board was told the district already has MOUs with NAU, GCU and ASU for related outreach. - Approve gifts and donations from community groups and businesses (Item 6.14).
Each motion passed by voice vote with no roll-call tallies recorded in the public transcript. Several items had brief clarifying discussion from staff before the votes; the volunteer agreement item included legal guidance about the Fair Labor Standards Act and how it applies to hourly employees who coach. For all items, board members moved and seconded the motions and the chair called the voice votes.
Board members and staff noted next steps where applicable: uploading the AFR to the state portal, preparing a revised budget in December and publishing approved MOUs and PTSO lists on the district website.
The meeting moved to an executive session after two members of the public addressed the board about athletics oversight; no formal board action on those public comments was recorded on the public record before adjournment.
