They recommended the county opt into the CCAO procurement process for both facilities (government accounts) and resident aggregation so CCAO can act as agent, run RFPs and manage public education and customer service for residents.
Commissioners discussed timing and the benefit of larger pooled purchasing—CCA officials said larger load pools usually yield better pricing and that counties in the program see administrative support and a staffed hotline to manage resident questions during program transitions. County staff planned to sign the necessary addenda/exhibits to participate in government facility natural gas aggregation and to start providing data for RFP preparation. If a short‑term supplier price is available now, staff was advised to take it for the winter months and continue work with CCAO on longer‑term procurement for residents.
