The Canal Winchester Landmarks Commission on Aug. 25 approved application CA25036 permitting new awnings at 4 South High Street.
Staff presented photographs and the applicant's Sunbrella fabric selection (black taupe). The commission was told the existing awning framing will remain unchanged; the replacement will alter the scalloped free‑floating bottom to a square rigid bottom while retaining closed sides.
The applicant confirmed the change affects two first‑floor awnings. Commissioners had no objections to the fabric choice and one commented the stripe could tie to the existing black metal roof. The commission voted to approve the application; roll call showed unanimous yes votes from Whit Wardell, David Craycraft, Pete Lynch, Roger White and Linda Henry.
No additional structural framing changes were requested, and the applicant will supply fabrication details as needed under administrative review.
