City management provided several community updates during the meeting.

The municipal pool is scheduled to close on Aug. 10, 2025; staff thanked the parks crew for operating the pool and splash pad through the summer. The council acknowledged the work of Dan and his crew.

The Sweetwater Police Department officially swore in Officers Ryan Georges and Coby Compton after they completed their basic peace officer academy training; Chief Stroman administered the oath and officers had their badges pinned by family members.

Staff also reported on the SNAP summer fan drive: Trinity Baptist Church donated 34 fans and additional cash donations of $670 were reported, with staff indicating remaining funds can still be used to purchase more fans for distribution.

Staff concluded the report and returned to the regular agenda.
