Jenna Noel, representing Food Bank of Wyoming, said more than 15% of individuals in Fremont County rely on food provided by the Food Bank’s network and that local partners distributed 1,200,000 pounds of food in the county during the previous year. Noel was joined by tribal liaison Jacqueline White and mobile pantry coordinator Veronica Miller.
Noel asked the council and community to support volunteer shifts, donations and awareness activities during Hunger Action Month. Mayor Hancock read and signed the proclamation recognizing the month and encouraging residents to increase their understanding of food insecurity.
Food Bank representatives and city staff posed for a photo with the proclamation and thanked the council for partnership on pantry, mobile-site and outreach programs.
