Council approves vacation of alley in Stover addition, approves $3,600 remittance

The Riverton City Council on Sept. 2 adopted Ordinance 25-0007, vacating a dead-end 20-foot alley in the Stover addition to enable future development and clarifying the compensation for the vacated property.
Community development staff said the action was the required third reading under Wyoming statute (W.S. 15-4-305). The council discussed and accepted a professional appraisal-derived value of $3,600 for the vacated alley land, and the ordinance language reflects the demand for that value.
Council voted unanimously on the third reading after a motion and second; the clerk recorded each member’s aye vote.
Staff noted the city may receive payment/remittance consistent with the ordinance and proceed with recordation steps so developers can move forward on site work in that block.
