Board approves purchase of mobile vehicle barriers for events to bolster security

Travis Stabak, operations manager for the Street Department, told the board the department has pursued this procurement since early 2023 and that chiefs in public safety helped advance the request over the past six to seven months. Stabak said the purchase is intended to secure up to 20 12-foot lanes for events and festivals.
Street Commissioner Matt Higginbotham introduced the item on the board's agenda. The motion to approve passed by voice vote.
