Village launches interactive capital-projects map; Oswego Land Park District thanks Montgomery and invites board to July 28 open house

Village staff demonstrated a new interactive capital-projects map on the Montgomery website designed to show current water and road projects, contractors, timelines and funding sources. The map, accessible from the Community Development construction page under "Montgomery interactive maps," is live and currently shows 2025 projects with filters for contract segments and hyperlinks to funding sources such as the IEPA.

Staff said the tool was built to improve transparency and help residents see "where their tax dollars are going" and to show project timelines and contacts. The map breaks larger utility work into smaller contract segments and allows users to click a project to see budget and contractor information. Staff asked residents to notify Sonia or Lindsay if they spot errors or items that need updating.

Earlier in the meeting the board heard from Chad Pedado, director of parks and planning for the Oswego Land Park District, who thanked the village and named "Montgomery, Administrator Zilfel, director of public works Mark Wolf and the rest of the village staff" for leasing the old public-works building while the park district constructed a new administration and operations center. Pedado invited trustees and the public to an open house July 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. to tour the new facility.

Trustees and staff encouraged residents to use the interactive map and to provide feedback so staff can keep project information current.
