Dalton City Mayor and Council on Oct. 20 approved a traffic-control change to allow on-street parking on a portion of the south side of Clark Street between Trammell Street and West Hawthorne Street, adding approximately 10 parking spaces.
Public works staff said the request originated with the Creative Arts Guild to address spillover parking; staff identified the location as the most permissible from a design standpoint. “This request actually originated from the creative arts skills where, spillover parking was additional spillover parking was needed. So public works identified this location as being the most permissible location from a design standpoint,” a staff presenter said.
Council members moved and seconded the measure and approved it without recorded opposition in the transcript. No further engineering changes, permit conditions or enforcement details were provided during the meeting.
