Representatives from EZ Fiber briefed the Brookshire City Council on plans to deploy fiber‑to‑the‑home service in the city and described outreach steps for construction in public rights‑of‑way.
"Our goal here is to bring your community with fiber Internet," said Alex Rodriguez, senior community manager for EZ Fiber. Rodriguez told the council the company plans to work in rights‑of‑way and public utility easements and that EZ Fiber is a public‑utility company recognized by the Public Utility Commission of Texas. He said planned offerings would deliver "upgraded fiber Internet from 1 to 8 gigs of fiber."
Rodriguez and Jared Ortega, the company's Houston area community relations manager, emphasized restoration promises and consumer contacts during construction. "We guarantee all restoration ... it will get fully restored, at any cost that occurs will be on us," Rodriguez said. Ortega said EZ Fiber will coordinate with city staff and HOAs, provide points of contact before construction and attempt to avoid leaving residents "high and dry" during work.
Angel Tapia, identified as EZ Fiber's senior community relations director, introduced the team and said the company wants to align corporate investments with local community needs.
Why this matters: If fully built, fiber service with multi‑gigabit speeds could change broadband access and economic development opportunities in Brookshire. The company said it will use public right‑of‑way and that construction schedules, permitting and coordination with the city will guide deployment and restoration work.
EZ Fiber representatives offered to follow up with the city's community relations specialist to coordinate outreach and to provide construction contact information for residents.
