Resident supports Costco in Franklin but urges the city to rethink the proposed site

Matheweg, who gave her address as 7321 Brun Drive, said she supports Costco coming to the city “that’s not in question,” but expressed concern that the proposed location conflicts with the city’s plan designation for 20 Seventh Street as a business corridor and could introduce commercial development into areas not intended for such use. She suggested an alternative location near 70 Sixth Street and Ryan Road, saying that area would “have less impact on nearby residential neighborhoods.”
Matheweg also asked when a revised plan for Paths General is expected to come before the plan commission. Her comment was made during the public-comment portion of the meeting; the commission did not respond with a timeline on the record.
