Plan Commission hears progress updates on Ridgeview Estates, upcoming 87‑unit apartment and Clement Business Park projects
Summary
City staff told the Fort Atkinson Plan Commission on April 8 that infrastructure work at Ridgeview Estates is advancing, an 87‑unit apartment has state‑approved early start plans and could begin once concrete delivery is scheduled, and the city postponed a pending closing in the Clement Business Park pending site plan review for an 86,000‑square‑foot industrial flex building.

At its April 8 meeting the Fort Atkinson Plan Commission received verbal updates from city staff on several previously approved projects in and around the city.
Staff reported that Ridgeview Estates, the subdivision near Bangor Road, is moving forward: frost is leaving the ground, contractors are preparing for final grading and to begin road, curb and gutter, sidewalk and asphalt work once materials are available, and the city anticipates completion of the east‑west road (Trillium Drive) by June 1. Staff also said an 87‑unit apartment building planned for the subdivision has state‑approved early start plans and is expected to begin work within the next week once a concrete delivery date is scheduled; staff said the city recently closed on the land sale for that apartment project and is working on offers to purchase several remaining lots, including a multi‑unit townhome parcel and single‑family lots.
In the Clement Business Park, staff said the city will likely postpone closing on an offer to purchase certain lots (referenced by staff as lots for which closings were scheduled) by about 30 days to allow Wisconsin Development Corp. — the prospective buyer — time to submit site plans for an approximately 86,000‑square‑foot industrial flex building. One condition of the sale is that plan commission approval of site plans occur prior to closing. Staff also reported that the Badger Storage development in the Clement Business Park is planning to break ground in 2025.
On a separate matter, staff said the small condominium/courtyard concept on South Main Street has not moved beyond a concept plan; the parcel is currently not annexed into the city and would need to be annexed before development because city water and sewer are only available on Main Street and would be required for the project.
Staff framed these updates as routine project progress reports; commissioners asked a follow‑up on the South Main concept and acknowledged ongoing communications with developers.
