On April 8 the Fort Atkinson Plan Commission approved a site plan review to allow new signage for Little Rainbow's Play Place at 1335 North High Street.
City staff reported the proposed sign is 32 square feet, will face North High Street, and includes internal LED lighting and a 7‑inch projection for the mounting hardware. Staff said the sign complies with the city's allowance of up to 40 square feet per front facade and noted the proposal is a face replacement for an existing group development sign as part of a broader storefront update.
Staff also said Little Rainbow's Play Place was a recipient of the city's capital catalyst revolving loan fund last year and that the loan helped fund the remodeling of the space, which previously housed a Hollywood Video. City staff recommended approval and commissioners expressed support for the new business occupying a long‑vacant storefront.
A motion to approve the site plan review was moved and seconded and carried on a voice vote.
Details: Proposed sign size 32 square feet; allowed facade signage 40 square feet; projection 7 inches; internal LED illumination; material aluminum with steel mounting hardware.
