Granville County Schools say consolidation finished on time and on budget; board approves consent items and staffing actions

Granville County Schools leaders told the Board of Education that major school consolidation moves and summer readiness work were completed on time and on budget, and that hiring and summer academic programs left the district better positioned for the start of the 2025–26 school year. The board approved routine consent items, student and facility fees, and certified/classified personnel; it also approved a staffing contract with Sunbelt Staffing pending final attorney review.

Superintendent Dr. Winborn opened the meeting by thanking maintenance, technology, transportation, child nutrition and human resources staff for completing the district’s secondary reorganization and logistical moves. He listed schools involved in the reorganization and upgrades, including Butner STEM Elementary and Middle schools, GC Hawley Middle School, Granville Central High School (and the new Granville Central Middle School), J.F. Webb High School and South Granville High School. District leaders told the board that moves, facility improvements and technology redistribution were completed "on time and on budget."
