Oviedo board schedules attendance for upcoming unveilings; Jolie plaque base funded by parks and rec

The Oviedo Public Art Board reviewed upcoming exhibitions and unveilings and asked members to attend ceremonial events.
Board members were told Wanda Granville’s current Arts-in-Chambers exhibition runs through Oct. 23 and that purchasers can still buy works through that date. The board agreed to be present for an unveiling scheduled for Nov. 3 in the City Council chambers; staff requested that as many board members as possible attend with the artist and council.
On the Jolie project, staff said all materials are ready except parts for a base to hold a bronze plaque; Parks and Recreation is funding the base at a cost of $450. The Parks and Recreation director will coordinate installation and notify the board of the unveiling date when the work is complete.
Staff also reminded the board of future regular meeting dates: Nov. 19 and Dec. 17, both at 5:30 p.m.
