BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho House Committee on Education on March 6 sent Senate Bill 1092 to the House floor with a do-pass recommendation after a hearing on a proposal that would let teachers and school administrators apply for a lifetime professional certificate once they complete 25 years of combined classroom or administrative experience.
Senator Lori Denhartaug, the bill sponsor, told the committee the measure is designed to “provide a little bit of relief for those who have been in their profession for 25 years” by removing the state-level five-year certificate-renewal and continuing-education requirement for eligible educators.
