“There is a piece, myself 20 years ago, 25 years ago when I was working, these sliding scale fees were still a thing in Idaho... It will make the fee‑determination process work a little bit better for families and for the whole state,” Erickson said.
Representative Kaler moved to introduce RS 32232; the committee approved the motion and the RS was introduced for drafting and a future hearing. Representative Erickson said he would provide additional statutory or rule references at the hearing when asked by Representative Kaler about a cross reference in the draft (the transcript references a replacement to section 39‑3140 and IDAPA rules).
The RS does not change benefits or eligibility on its face; it reorganizes where procedural requirements and certification language are housed. The committee did not adopt final statutory text at introduction; any specific changes to IDAPA or cross‑references will be considered in the drafting and public hearing process.
