Council recognizes Black History Month contest winners, announces committee appointments and upcoming meeting schedule

The City of North Miami used part of its Feb. 25 meeting to recognize Black History Month activities, announce committee appointments and remind residents how to access council agendas and livestreams, City Clerk Vanessa Joseph said.
Joseph said the Black History Month Committee held a poster contest and announced the winners during the meeting; the committee also received a certificate of recognition from the city. "Black history is American history and I hope that throughout the year we continue to honor and celebrate Black people and their contributions to our country," Joseph said.
The clerk also said several residents were appointed to city boards and committees and encouraged interested residents to apply via the city clerk's webpage, www.NorthMiamiFL.gov/cityclerk. Joseph noted that council meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in the North Miami City Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, and are livestreamed on channel 77, the City's YouTube channel, Facebook and Vimeo. The clerk invited residents to consult the City Clerk's office or the website for agendas and meeting packets.
