Auburn council appoints five to MPO, adds two to commercial development authority; library and preservation vacancies announced

Mayor Ron Anders said the Auburn City Council appointed five people to the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) citizens advisory committee and filled seats on the Commercial Development Authority during its March 4 meeting.
The council reappointed Dana Camp and Hunter Smith to the MPO and appointed Robert Compton, Kirk Iverson and Cheryl McGee to the advisory committee. The mayor said MPO terms are four years, begin in March and will run through 2029.
The council also reappointed Amy Carbajal to the Commercial Development Authority and appointed Kate Hamm to the CDA, Anders said. He thanked all applicants and encouraged residents to seek civic appointments.
The city manager announced a library board vacancy that begins April 15, 2025; that term is four years and will run through 2029. The city manager also said there are two vacancies on the Historic Preservation Commission with three-year terms beginning in April 2025 and running through 2028. Anders urged interested residents to review board materials and apply through the city website.
No formal vote tallies or movers and seconders were recorded in the mayor's minutes read at the meeting. The mayor described the appointments and vacancies as routine appointment actions and a civic outreach effort to fill volunteer seats.
