Committee advances Turnbull nomination, rejects two education dockets and approves two others

Later, Matthew Reber of the State Board of Education asked the committee to pull back two dockets (identified in the packet as 801112401 and O80202‑2401 in committee records) and requested the committee reject those dockets. Senator Ward Engelking moved to reject both dockets; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
After rejecting those items, the committee considered and approved additional dockets. Committee members approved docket 08‑0401‑2401 (rules governing the Idaho Digital Learning Academy) and docket 47‑0101‑2401 after discussion and motions recorded on the agenda. The approvals were made by voice vote after motions and seconds were recorded.
These moves were actions on administrative rules and an executive appointment; none of the dockets discussed in the hearing were amended on the record. The committee said it would reconvene the following day for additional brief business.
