Canby transit advisory committee approves past minutes; vacancy and attendance policy discussed

At the Jan. 23 meeting the Canby Area Transit Advisory Committee approved minutes for July 25 and Nov. 21, 2024 and discussed membership vacancies and attendance policy.
Votes and procedural items A motion was made to approve the July 25, 2024 minutes and the committee voted to approve them. The Nov. 21, 2024 minutes were also moved, seconded and approved.
Membership and attendance Committee members noted Paul Waterman, previously on the committee, is now a city councilor and therefore ineligible to serve on the advisory committee. The committee discussed one open seat for which Ted Hensley has applied; final appointment is handled by city council (Councilor Stearns) and the city recorder’s office. Members also reviewed the committee rule that could remove members who miss more than three consecutive meetings; staff said they will bring attendance records to the March meeting to consider removals and term renewals.
Other housekeeping Staff reminded members that terms ending March 31 will prompt city recorder outreach to confirm whether members wish to continue; reappointments and any removals are forwarded as recommendations to council for action.
