Senate committee sends bill to add certified pharmacy technician to Idaho Board of Pharmacy

The Idaho Senate Health and Welfare Committee voted to send House Bill 286 to the floor with a “do pass” recommendation, a measure that would add a certified registered pharmacy technician as a voting member of the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.

Supporters told the committee that pharmacy technicians now carry much of the daily operational workload in pharmacies and that their inclusion on the board would add an operational perspective to regulation and disciplinary matters.
