Strongsville council adopts stormwater, street and equipment contracts, approves police camera purchase and files two conditional liquor objections

Strongsville City Council on Feb. 18 adopted a package of ordinances and resolutions to update stormwater rules, authorize bids for street services and sweeping, and approve a purchase contract for police body-worn and in-car cameras. The council also voted to file conditional objections to two pending liquor-permit applications, citing lack of building, health or safety-code compliance.

The council unanimously approved two ordinances amending stormwater rules—Ordinance 2025015 (prohibitions on certain discharges) and Ordinance 2025016 (stormwater management design criteria). Both measures were passed under suspension of the rules and adopted by roll call votes of seven in favor and zero opposed.

Council also authorized the administration to advertise for bids on several public-works items: Resolution 202517 to advertise for ready-mix concrete for the service department; Resolution 202518 to advertise for paint striping of streets for 2025–26; and Resolution 202519 to advertise for street sweeping services for 2025–26. Each resolution was approved by unanimous roll-call votes.
