Frances Lippett, budget and policy analyst with Legislative Services, told the committee the letter needed two edits to reflect the committee’s action taken the prior week: the motion that passed did not include previously drafted ‘‘flexibility language’’ tied to the state employee salary action, and the committee’s recommendation that IT and engineering staff receive a 4.5 percent market-based increase is in addition to a $1.55-per-hour per full-time equivalent salary increase.
The changes were procedural and limited to the committee’s letter; the committee did not alter the underlying salary recommendations during the brief exchange. Committee leaders asked for and received unanimous consent to approve the corrected letter. The committee recorded no roll-call vote; the chair declared the request approved with no objection.
The corrections will be reflected in the CEC recommendation letter submitted as part of the budget development process.
The committee proceeded to agency budget hearings after approving the technical edits.
