The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare asked the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee on Jan. 13 for an exemption from a recent transfer limitation so the division of Licensing and Certification can shift personnel dollars to operating as needed to pay contract nurses.
Alex Williamson, budget and policy analyst with the Legislative Services Office, explained the request and the statutory language the division seeks to be exempted from. "The division of licensing and certification, they're requesting an exemption from the transfer limitations set forth in section 8 of Senate Bill 1268 of 2024," Williamson said.
