Representative Doug Pickett, R-District 27, introduced RS32469 to establish a public process that would provide private property owners a right to be heard in decisions on wildlife transplants and relocations.
Pickett said the bill does not alter Fish and Game’s statutory authorities but would create a process so property owners could register objections or concerns. He said earlier edits had been made to address concerns raised by Fish and Game.
A motion to introduce RS32469 passed by voice vote. The sponsor said the RS modifies prior drafts to accommodate agency concerns and that the committee will examine details and any conflicts with existing statutory authority in future hearings.
