Joint committee adopts FY2025 general fund revenue projection at $5.99 billion

The Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee voted unanimously Friday to set the fiscal year 2025 general fund revenue projection at $5,990,000,000, adopting the Economic Outlook and Revenue Assessment Committee's recommendation.
Senator Woodward moved the FY2025 revenue figure; Representative Horman seconded. The committee followed its voting protocol and recorded 10 ayes in the Senate and 10 ayes in the House for a total 20-0 affirmative vote, and the chairman declared the motion passed.
The FY2025 number will be used to set agency budgets in the current fiscal year. Keith Bybee, Division Manager of the Budget Policy Analysis Division, had presented the Economic Outlook and Revenue Assessment Committee's recommendation and noted it differed from the governor's lower recommendation for the same year.
Bybee also presented revenue projections for fiscal year 2026 during the same packet briefing, but the committee did not reach agreement on a FY2026 projection (see separate article). The committee recorded the FY2025 adoption on the record and moved on to other statewide budget decisions.
