House recognizes multiple Tennessee school athletic achievements in ceremony

Powell invited athletic director Cameron Hill and head coach Kylie Harvey to the well; sophomore Lily Quick addressed the chamber and praised teamwork and perseverance.
Representative Cochran introduced a joint resolution honoring Karina Beastry of Central High School in McMinn County as the TSSAA Class 2A Miss Basketball and noting her career totals and honors cited in the resolution.
Representative Clemons read a resolution honoring the Hillsborough Boroughs boys basketball team for winning the 2025 TSSAA Division I Class 4A state championship, the first in school history, and highlighted the team's 34-5 season and staff and district representatives who joined the delegation.
Representative Haston introduced a resolution honoring Louisville Middle School Hornets boys basketball for winning the James C. Veil State Basketball Tournament Class A championship; the sponsor and local officials praised the students and community support.
Each recognition was ceremonial: members read resolutions that recited records, milestones and community support; coaches, school leaders and some student-athletes were invited to speak briefly and to take photographs in the well. The resolutions did not include legislative funding or policy actions.
