The Tennessee House adopted a resolution honoring Chief Warrant Officer 3 Phyllis Ann Fitzgerald for 21 years of service in the United States Army and ongoing work supporting veterans.
Representative Fritz read House Joint Resolution 332, which recounts Fitzgerald's 21 years of service, deployment to the Middle East for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm with the First Infantry Division, and post-service roles, including serving as executive director for the Society of the First Infantry Division. The resolution also notes Fitzgerald’s community volunteer work and her appointment by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly to the Veterans Claims Advisory Panel.
Representative Camper and others recounted Fitzgerald’s personal background and long-standing relationship with fellow veterans; Fitzgerald addressed the chamber, describing her life from Nashville-area beginnings to military service and subsequent public-service roles. The House praised her leadership and volunteerism and adopted the resolution as a ceremonial recognition during Women's History Month.
