House Education Committee advances HB44 to floor; narrows prior bill to serious bullying incidents and law-enforcement notification

Representative Chris Mathias presented House Bill 44 to the Idaho House Education Committee on Jan. 23 as a narrowed successor to last year’s HB539. Mathias said HB44 would apply only to ‘‘serious incidents of harassment, intimidation, and bullying’’ defined as those resulting in a form of suspension, and would require districts to adopt reporting procedures for such incidents.
