School resource officer MOU with Bayard ISD tabled for further review

An updated memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Callahan County and Bayard Independent School District to provide a school resource officer was presented March 10 but was not included in the meeting packet. County staff said the new draft adjusted the service dates to April 1, 2025–May 30, 2026, and clarified that the school would be responsible for SRO overtime.
Commissioners decided to table the item for additional review because the revised document was not provided in advance for inclusion in the packet. Commissioner Farmer moved to table the MOU; Commissioner Windham seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
County staff said the MOU contains a 60‑day cancellation clause that allows either party to terminate the agreement with notice.
