Commissioners approve consent agenda, lift burn ban and declare surplus vehicles

At its March meeting the Callahan County Commissioners Court handled several procedural and operational votes.
The court approved the consent agenda, which included payment of bills, payroll approval and the treasurer’s report. Commissioner Lennon moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Clark seconded and the motion passed with no recorded opposition.
The court received the sheriff’s report — current inmate counts and overtime totals — and approved it on a motion by Commissioner Farmer, seconded by Commissioner McGowan.
On the county burn ban, Commissioner Farmer moved to lift the ban and Commissioner Clark seconded. The court approved the motion with one commissioner recorded as opposed; the court allowed burns to resume under the county’s existing rules.
The court declared two sheriff’s office vehicles surplus and authorized disposal by auction: a 2017 Ford Explorer and a 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe. Commissioner Windham moved and Commissioner Clark seconded the 2017 Explorer disposal; Commissioner Fulmer moved and Commissioner McGowan seconded the 2020 Tahoe disposal. Both motions passed with no recorded opposition.
The court adjourned after approving these items.
