Christopher LaHosat (LSO) presented a request for the Office of the Lieutenant Governor for $32,600 one‑time from the general fund to replace five network switches at the recommendation of OITS.
Kevin Campbell (LSO) summarized a STEM Action Center request for $9,900 to replace two laptops (one standard, one high end) and networking gear (router, switch, wireless access point) plus support services; OITS approved the specifications. Representative Price asked why a previous network switch had cost more than $16,000; Campbell and Director Gonzalez indicated the STEM network is smaller and requires lower‑cost equipment.
Brooke Dupree (LSO) presented a Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired request for $28,900 in general funds for desktops, laptops with docking stations, routers, a switch and wireless access points; the request was OITS‑recommended and the governor recommended the funding.
Kellen McGurkin (LSO) presented Idaho State Lottery replacement requests totaling $176,700 from the Lottery’s dedicated fund for server equipment and software (~$154,700), desktops and laptops (~$8,100) and two iMac workstations (~$13,900) to support marketing and scratch‑ticket design needs. McGurkin noted the Lottery’s statutory authority under Title 67, Chapter 74 of Idaho Code.
Committee members asked for itemized plans in a few cases (notably the IPTV and lottery servers and the STEM network) to better understand scope and procurement. Analysts said OITS had reviewed technical specifications and recommended the equipment in these cases; agencies agreed to provide further procurement documentation on request.
No votes were taken during the hearings; agencies remain available for follow‑up questions.
