Senate committee backs printing reduction, approves several RSs and sends landlord-tenant reorganization to the floor

The committee approved sending that RS to print.
Senator Brian Lenny presented two RSs reflecting rule reviews from the Senate Commerce and Human Resources Committee (RS32355 and RS32356), and the committee voted to send both RSs to print after a motion and voice approval.
Senator Ali Rabe presented Senate Bill 10 43, a reorganization of Idaho’s landlord‑tenant code. Rabe said the measure consolidates language currently spread across Title 55, Chapter 3 and Title 6, Chapter 3, moves commonly used provisions (lease termination, rent increases, local-government preemption) earlier in the code for easier reference, consolidates “leases for life” language, and makes a single substantive change: it removes the last remaining statutory reference to "coverture," a historical legal doctrine. Rabe said there are no other substantive changes to current law.
Senator Keiser moved and Senator Foreman seconded sending Senate Bill 10 43 to the floor with a due‑pass recommendation. The committee voted by voice: “motion carries,” and the bill will proceed to the Senate floor with that recommendation.
