Parks and Recreation staff presented the city’s previously submitted appropriation request for the ‘‘Meet in the Middle’’ project and asked the council whether to pursue the same language or revise their approach for this legislative cycle.
Parks Director (identified in the workshop as Bridal Foreman) said the request had been submitted in prior years and that staff felt there was support among legislators but that prior appropriations did not reach the final budget. Council members expressed comfort with resubmitting the request and asked staff to finalize the project language and provide a one‑page summary for the city’s legislative advocate.
No dollar amount or contract action was finalized at the workshop; staff said they would return with the refined wording and a formal one-sheet for legislative outreach.
