Clermont— Below are the formal outcomes recorded by the City Council on Oct. 14, 2025. Staff will return to the council on follow-up items as noted.
Votes and outcomes
- Item 7 (Waterfront dock system procurement): Tabled to Oct. 28. Council directed staff to seek alternative procurement options, pricing comparisons and to confirm regatta commitments. (Voice vote; recorded as unanimous.)
- Item 19 (Ordinance 2025-038): Adopted. Amends Chapter 119 to provide administrative approval of qualifying residential subdivision plats in compliance with Florida statutes; designates planning and development director or city manager designee as approving authority. (Roll call: Strange Aye, Howard Aye, Myers Aye, Mayor Tim Murray Aye.)
- Item 20 (Land purchase authorization / budget amendment): Approved. City authorized purchase negotiations for DeHoya properties up to $4,500,000 subject to at least a 120-day due-diligence period and a required public workshop at least 20 days before the end of due diligence. (Voice vote; recorded as unanimous.)
- Item 21 (FEMA SAFER grant acceptance): Approved. Council accepted SAFER funding to hire firefighters; staff to return with budget amendments in first-quarter cycle.
- Item 22 (Assistance to Firefighters Grant / AFG): Approved. Council accepted AFG funding for apparatus-mounted source-capture systems to reduce firefighters exposure to carcinogens.
- Items 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 (Introductions of ordinances/resolutions): Introductions and first-read motions carried forward as recorded for Olympus PUD master sign plan (23), proactive automotive small-scale comp plan amendment (24), rezoning intro for proactive auto (25), Hammock Point reserve annexation (26) and Luisa Grama annexation (27). All introductions carried by voice vote.
Notes: Roll-call detail was recorded for Ordinance 2025-038. Several items passed by unanimous voice vote; item 7 was tabled after procurement concerns and will return on Oct. 28.
