The revised language distinguishes Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses — “only alternative credit option proposals for advanced placement and international baccalaureate courses received a grade and contribute to the weighted GPA on the transcript” — from other alternative credits, which the procedure treats as pass/fail or “credit only.”
Board members suggested small wording edits to clarify the abbreviation “CO” (credit only) and the placement of that explanation in the procedure. One member said the adjustments reflected the earlier discussion and examples provided by board member Jake.
Staff and board members agreed that, because the item is a procedural document rather than a policy, it does not require a formal board vote at this meeting. The board asked staff to make the agreed edits, place the revised procedure in future board materials, and return it for a final review if necessary.
