BOISE — The Idaho Senate Health and Welfare Committee approved a comprehensive rewrite of the Medicaid Basic Plan rules intended to remove duplicative federal and state material, shorten the rule text and focus the chapter on policy choices available to the legislature.
Jared Larson and Deputy Director Juliette Sharon presented the docket (referenced as docket 16-309-2401 in committee materials). Larson said the rewrite reduces the rule chapter from roughly 150 pages to about 80 pages by removing text that merely repeats requirements already found in federal regulation (CFR) or Idaho law.
