JFAC advances Office of IT Services modernization package, orders statewide IT survey

Committee analysts said the funding would buy cubicles, chairs and short-term workspace equipment to accommodate incoming staff.
For FY2026, the committee considered enhancements that included office space to house ITS employees on the Chinden campus, additional enterprise security hardware, emergency connectivity network hardware and software, IT infrastructure upgrades, a ServiceNow project-management tool, 22 full-time equivalent positions tied to consolidation (including staff transferring from Idaho State Police and the Department of Juvenile Corrections), and replacement IT hardware. The committee moved and approved an FY2026 package that included general-fund and dedicated funding and added 22 FTP for ITS modernization.
Committee language was also adopted directing ITS and the Division of Financial Management to survey all executive branch agency IT resources, services and equipment and to report back to the legislature with recommendations for consolidation and cost-efficiency measures.
