RS seeks to update Idaho rules for residential care and assisted-living facilities

Senator Camille Blaylock told the committee RS32348 updates regulations for Idaho residential care and assisted-living facilities, working with the Idaho Health Care Association. "This legislation aims to make it easier for these facilities to open and operate within our state," she said.
Blaylock described changes that would revise Idaho code relating to facility admissions, licensing, staffing, inspections, medication management and resident agreements. She said the RS eliminates outdated or unnecessary requirements so administrators and staff can "prioritize patient care over paperwork while maintaining essential health and safety standards."
Senator Harris moved to send RS32348 to print and Senator Keiser seconded. The committee approved the motion by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
