Commission approves $250 county contribution for veterans meal at Avenuece Elementary

Julie Smith, director of instruction at Avenuece Elementary, asked the Franklin County Commission on Oct. 22 for $250 to provide a complimentary meal for veterans during the school’s Veterans Day program.
Smith said the school alternates the event each year between Williamsburg and Avenuece and invited commissioners to attend the Nov. 11 program at 9:45 a.m. The commission voted to approve the $250 contribution during the meeting.
Commissioners did not attach conditions to the expenditure in the meeting record.
