Senate panel backs bill directing Idaho school districts to adopt distraction-free mobile-device policies
Summary
Senate Bill 1032 would require Idaho school districts to assess mobile-device impacts and develop local ‘distraction-free learning’ policies by year-end; committee voted to send the bill to the Senate floor with a due-pass recommendation after testimony from superintendents, trustees, students and law enforcement representatives.
Senate Bill 1032, a measure that would require every Idaho school district to assess the impact of mobile-device use on students and develop a local “distraction-free learning” policy by the end of the year, was recommended for passage out of the Idaho Senate Education Committee.
