The Ohio Senate on Tuesday passed Senate Bill 148 to designate a portion of State Route 2 in Lake County as the Specialist Lloyd Andrew Sellers Memorial Highway.
Senator Serino said Specialist Sellers served with the U.S. Army’s 9th Infantry Division and was killed in action on June 19, 1967. Serino recounted conversations with Sellers’ family and said the naming honors the veteran’s sacrifice.
“Specialist Sellers’ love, courage, and ultimate sacrifice should be recognized and memorialized,” Serino said on the floor, urging support for the highway designation.
The Senate approved the bill by roll call; the clerk announced 33 yeas and 0 nays and the bill was declared passed and entitled. The title was agreed to on the floor and the bill proceeds through the legislative process.
