Strongsville City Council unanimously passed a package of ordinances and resolutions on Feb. 18, 2025 that update the city's stormwater design and illicit-discharge rules, authorize bids for street maintenance and approve a contract for police camera equipment, and the council voted to enter conditional objections to two liquor-permit applications.

The measures were passed after motions to suspend the rules and adopt or adopt as emergency measures. The council also moved for conditional objections to two liquor-license applications, citing building, health and safety noncompliance; the objections will be withdrawn if the building department certifies compliance.

Ordinances and resolutions approved included: an amendment to the planning and zoning code on the composition of the architectural review board (Ordinance No. 20-25-11) placed on third reading and set for a public hearing April 7, 2025; two ordinances amending stormwater-related code (Ordinance Nos. 20-25-15 and 20-25-16) concerning prohibitions on illicit discharges and stormwater management design criteria; and resolutions authorizing the mayor to advertise for bids for ready-mix concrete (Resolution No. 20-25-17), paint striping for…
