Committee advances four resolutions on rulemaking, urban agriculture, cloud seeding and weather modification

The Idaho Senate Agricultural Affairs Committee on Wednesday advanced four Senate resolutions that would change rulemaking procedures and clarify state policy on urban agriculture, cloud seeding and weather-modification activities.

Senators moved each resolution by voice vote during the committee meeting; all were approved to move forward for printing or to the floor, members said.

Senate Vice Chair Zito and Senator Tammy Nichols presented the measures. RS32176 was described as a Senate resolution related to the committee’s rulemaking process. Senator Tammy Nichols presented RS32228 as a trailer bill to Senate Bill 1026 that would add or clarify definitions in Idaho Code Section 20-21002 for terms such as community gardening, market gardening, small‑scale livestock, urban farming and victory gardening.
